Call for Documentary Film Projects for ‘Sunny Side of the Doc 2026’ Delegation
Bangladeshi filmmakers only
Bisubo Art Organization, in association with Alliance Française Chittagong, Dhaka DocLab, and Foresight Innovative Hub under the PICC Project, invites submission to documentary filmmakers for exciting opportunity.
Four selected documentary film directors/producers will have the opportunity to participate in Sunny Side of the Doc 2026 (La Rochelle, France June 22–25, 2026), one of the world’s leading international markets for documentary and factual storytelling.
Submission deadline: October 30, 2025.
Categories:
We invite submissions from Bangladeshi director / producer, both emerging and established, with projects across all factual genres. Projects may be in:
- Category 1 – Development/Production Stage: early research, concept, or initial production.
- Category 2 – Post Production/Work-in-Progress/Rough Cut: advanced stage projects with a rough cut or work-in-progress version.
Selection Process:
- 15 projects will be shortlisted (10 from Category 1 and 5 from Category 2).
- 4 projects will be selected for awards and intensive mentoring (3 from Category 1 and 1 from Category 2).
- Primary judging: November 20, 2025.
- Final announcement: Chattogram International Documentary Film Festival – CIDFF 2026 (January 2026).
Benefits of Selection:
- Accreditation as part of the Bangladeshi Delegation to Sunny Side of the Doc 2026.
- Residency & mentorship: 4-day residency in Chattogram with preparatory sessions.
- Access to pitching forums, networking events, and international buyers.
- From each project, one member (director or producer) can physically join to the pitching session at La Rochelle, France; covering visa fees, air tickets, accommodation, food, local transport and sunny side entry fees.
Project Submission Rules:
Submit the following materials (in English):
- Project title, format, and development stage.
- Synopsis (Max. 500 words).
- Director’s note and Producer’s note.
- Short bio with headshot of director and producer.
- Project timeline, Project Still.
- Teaser/Trailer/Clip/Visual materials [Development 3 minutes (if available), Rough Cut 10 min (mandatory)]
- Contact Details of the Director and producer (Phone Number with active WhatsApp, Email and Present Address)
- Teaser/Clip/Visual material will be acceptable with the following particulars only:
File format – MP4, Aspect Ratio – 16:9, Resolution – 720*1080 or 1920*1080.
